Merek S. Rubin

Merek is the head of the Estate Planning Group at Rubin Hay PC. He is a tax attorney concentrating his practice in wealth preservation and planning for high net-worth individuals and families, business executives, entrepreneurs and owners of closely held businesses, utilizing sophisticated estate planning and wealth preservation techniques.

Merek counsels family businesses and owners of real estate holdings on issues of control, structure, succession and intergenerational planning and implements sophisticated strategies and techniques to minimize estate and gift taxes and to preserve and protect clients’ assets, including limited partnerships, limited liability companies, grantor trusts, self-settled trusts, qualified personal residence trusts and other trust arrangements.

Merek is the lead author of the five volume Generation Skipping and Dynasty Trust Compendium (National Network Incorporated); coauthor of Irrevocable Trust Compendium (National Network Incorporated); Editor, forms: Irrevocable Trusts: Analysis with Forms, (Warren, Gorham & Lamont), and contributing author of Legacy: Plan, Protect & Preserve Your Estate (Esperti Peterson Institute).

Merek was named a “Massachusetts Super Lawyer” and a “Five Star Wealth Manager in Estate Planning” in Boston Magazine and is designated as a Boston Top Rated Lawyer in Estate Planning by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell.

Merek lectures attorneys, accountants, financial planners, insurance professionals and the general public on estate planning and tax planning topics. He is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar; the United States District, District of Massachusetts; and the United States Tax Court. He received his undergraduate degree (B.S.B.A., cum laude); his law degree (J.D.) and his Master of Laws in Taxation (L.L.M.) from Boston University.
